Elon Musk is scheduled to participate AI summit in the UK

Elon Musk is scheduled to participate in a global artificial intelligence summit in the United Kingdom later this week. UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has announced plans for a live interview with the prominent tech mogul following Thursday's event. The summit, taking place at Bletchley Park, aims to assemble AI experts and world leaders to engage in discussions concerning the potential risks associated with artificial intelligence.

Notable figures such as US Vice-President Kamala Harris and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen are expected to attend the event. Additionally, it has come to the BBC's attention that Sam Altman from Open AI and Nick Clegg from Meta, along with several other tech leaders, will be joining the gathering. Renowned AI pioneer Yoshua Bengio has confirmed his presence at the event as well.

Prime Minister Sunak shared his intentions via a post on Mr. Musk's social media platform, formerly known as Twitter, stating, "In conversation with Elon Musk. After the AI Safety Summit. Thursday night on X." Recent breakthroughs in AI technology have been celebrated as revolutionary but have also raised concerns about their potential dangers, including threats to humanity, mass job displacement, and the amplification of disinformation.

On Monday, President Joe Biden signed an executive order mandating that AI developers share safety-related outcomes with the US government. However, Mr. Musk may advocate for the US and other nations to take even more significant steps. In March, he signed an open letter calling for a pause in "Giant AI Experiments." During an interview with the BBC in April, Mr. Musk emphasized that he had been concerned about AI safety for over a decade and called for the establishment of a regulatory body to oversee AI and ensure it does not pose a danger to the public.

Mr. Musk has also been critical of AI companies for their data usage in training chatbots, which learn human interactions by aggregating vast amounts of data from diverse sources to enhance their knowledge and interaction capabilities.
